How Chelsea now plan to vote at VAR meeting next month

Chelsea will have the chance to vote on whether VAR should be kept in the Premier League next month.

Premier League clubs will have their AGM in June, where all 20 members of the division will get to have their say on whether VAR should be retained.

It comes after Wolverhampton Wanderers proposed a resolution for VAR to be scrapped.

Before then, Chelsea will hope to have a new manager in place.

The Blues are currently looking for a successor to Mauricio Pochettino following the Argentine’s departure by mutual consent last week.

How are Chelsea planning to vote at the AGM?

Some Chelsea supporters will want VAR gone.

It was only last month when it had Chelsea’s last-minute winner against Aston Villa disallowed.

However, it does not look like the club are on the same page as those fans.

According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea are planning to vote against VAR being scrapped, with the Blues wanting to persist with it.

VAR the least of Chelsea’s concerns right now

Now is not the time for Chelsea to be worrying about VAR. Their main focus has to be on hiring the right manager after Pochettino’s exit.

Leaving after just one season at the club, the 52-year-old was clearly an appointment the club got wrong.

The same can also be said about Graham Potter, who did not even last as long as Pochettino did and was sacked by the bosses at Stamford Bridge.

For the sake of some stability, Chelsea need to get this next appointment right. Without it, they are going to struggle to qualify for the Champions League. There is just too much chaos at the club at times, which does not do anyone any favours.

Managers come and go and that is going to keep happening if Chelsea keep appointing the wrong person for the club. The pressure is on co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.
