Chelsea supporters on social media purred with delight after witnessing Tammy Abraham’s neat piece of skill for Roma last night.

Abraham showed off some nifty footwork yesterday during his debut for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Fancy flicks and tricks were not something Blues followers witnessed very often during the striker’s tenure at Stamford Bridge.

Which explained their surprised response to his dainty touch past the Fiorentina defender on Sunday evening.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Abraham off the mark

Aside from his piece of individual entertainment, Abraham’s maiden Roma game was full of drama and entertainment.

From the centre-forward’s point of view, his evening couldn’t have concluded in much better circumstances.

He grabbed two assists and ensured the Fiorentina goalkeeper was sent off for a late challenge.

The home crowd handed him a standing ovation for his contribution toward the 3-1 victory, which will have boosted his confidence no end.

Having not played in front of fans for over a year, Abraham deserved to feel some love from a full stadium.

His Chelsea career ended with a whimper, having fallen completely out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.

Overlooked and feeling pretty underappreciated, the 23-year-old needed to find refuge away from his boyhood club.

Mourinho offered him a route out of London and the pair’s partnership got off to the perfect start.

Unfortunately, it was another no.9 that grabbed most of the headlines last weekend.

Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea ended in a victory over Arsenal, with a first goal for the Blues to boot.
