It is not long to go until the new Premier League season kicks off, with Chelsea taking on west London rivals Fulham in their first game.

In August and September, Chelsea will also face Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal and Brentford.

Those three matches were recently moved so that they could be broadcast on live television. How did the Blues get on in the same fixtures last term? The Chelsea Chronicle has taken a look!

Chelsea vs Brighton: No points

On Sunday 30 August, Chelsea host Brighton at Stamford Bridge. They will be hoping for a much better outcome compared to their last meeting in west London.

In the previous campaign, they failed to take a single point from the fixture after losing 3-1 at the Bridge.

Chelsea took the lead that day, but Brighton managed to turn things around after Trevoh Chalobah’s red card.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: No points

After Brighton, Chelsea travel to the Emirates to take on London rivals Arsenal. It was another fixture that they lost last season.

The Gunners beat the Blues 2-1, sending Liam Rosenior’s side back home with nothing. Arsenal, of course, would go on to win the Premier League title and will be firm favourites to beat Chelsea again in September.

Brentford vs Chelsea: One point

At the Gtech Community Stadium last term, Chelsea were at least able to earn a point after an entertaining 2-2 draw with Brentford.

This time, hopefully they can take all three points back to Stamford Bridge. Clearly, though, none of those three fixtures will be easy after what happened during the 2025/26 campaign.

Chelsea’s squad will look slightly different going into the new season. The Blues have sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid and could replace him with Pep Chavarria.

Xabi Alonso is also eyeing Maxence Lacroix of Crystal Palace. Aerially, he has been really impressive for Palace and could give Chelsea a big boost in defence.
