Chelsea youngster Alex Matos has started life at Huddersfield Town pretty impressively since joining them on loan last month.
Alex Matos, who’s only 19, is an exciting talent on Chelsea’s books.
The teenage midfielder completed a short-term loan in January to Championship club Huddersfield, where he’s hit the ground running from day one.
He’s started all seven games across all competitions since his mid-season move.
The Chelsea loanee was in action last night and helped Huddersfield record an important 1-0 league win over Sunderland.

Huddersfield boosted their hopes of Championship survival with Wednesday’s league win.
For Matos, he caught the eye in the central midfield position, especially in his battle with Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.
WhoScored data recorded that the on-loan Huddersfield enforcer made six fouls. Also, he had an 87 per cent passing accuracy.
The Chelsea Chronicle did pick Matos out as the youngster to watch out for in 2024.
Huddersfield fans react to Alex Matos display
A selection of Huddersfield supporters on social media all agree that Matos is a quality footballer after watching him in midweek versus Sunderland.
Here are some of their fanbase on X praising the Chelsea loanee:
One fan said: “Bellingham didn’t show any sign of a class player. Matos miles better.”
Another wrote: “Matos is basically Kante. Doesn’t stop running this lad.”
A third claimed: “Matos has been solid, the way he wins the ball with such ease is a joy to watch live.”
Another posted: “Sorba, Spencer and Matos were phenomenal tonight, praying we get Matos back next season, looks like a serious player.”
A fifth supporter noted:”Alex Matos a definite contender for performance of the night for me. Not necessarily the eye catching stuff but he didn’t half do a job on Bellingham tonight. Don’t think Jobe got more than 5 yards away from him! Much like Kas, he’s a dog on the field. Excellent showing.”
Another said: “Deserved result tonight. Top performances across the park, shout-out to Matos who had Bellingham on toast throughout and to Wiles who has been like a new signing these past few games…”
Another claimed: “What a difference Alex Matos has made to this team. Hard to believe he’s only 19 – loves a tackle and great energy. The sort of midfielder you’d love to play alongside. Got so much potential.”
