One Chelsea transfer target has now dropped a massive hint that he will not be on the move during this transfer window.

Ivan Toney claimed in an interview with Sky Sports that he was looking forward to repaying the faith and support that has been put in him recently at Brentford.

Toney is one of a number of players who has been strongly considered for the striker role at Stamford Bridge.

It has been no secret that a number nine is at the top of their shopping list right now, however they are keen to make sure they select the right target.

It was believed that Toney would be keen on a move away from the Premier League side when he returns to action later this month, after being banned for the first half of the season.

However, he has now hinted that he feels he owes it to his side due to the support they’ve shown him during his absence.

Toney hints at stay at Brentford

He said: “Everybody’s been supportive. It feels like everyone’s been behind me from the start. The fans have been behind me as well which is a massive part. Everybody knows Brentford is a family club, and they’ve been amazing to me through the whole situation.

“The fans have been amazing. I have a lot to repay. Brentford are struggling at the moment but I’m sure when I’m back I’ll play a big part in getting them out of the losing form they’ve been in. I just can’t wait to get back and help the team.

“Thomas Frank has been nothing but the biggest help I can ask for, as have the whole club. I have a lot to repay, and I can’t wait to try and do that.”

The player Chelsea have been strongest linked to is Victor Osimhen, however they are likely to need to smash their transfer record to bring him in.
