Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has responded to Frank Lampard’s warning about “not being too arrogant” for winning the Premier League title after a touchline row.
The Chelsea manager was fuming when referee Andre Marriner awarded Liverpool a free-kick after Mateo Kovacic’s challenge on Sadio Mane.
The protest erupted into a heated row that you have probably seen a few times already.
Speaking after the match, Lampard told the media (via the Metro): “I’ve got no problem with Jurgen Klopp. He’s managed this team and it’s fantastic.
“Some of the bench, it’s a fine line between when you’re winning – and they’ve won the league, fair play to Liverpool football club.
“But also don’t get too arrogant with it. That was my thing. But done. That’s it. It matters when you get emotional and that was it.”
And now Klopp has had his say about the incident and Lampard’s comment at today’s press conference.

“We are not arrogant — Frank was in a competitive mood, I respect that a lot,” the former Borussia Dortmund manager told the media (as quoted by ESPN).
“After the game, it’s over. During the game there’s pure emotion involved. What he has to learn is to finish on the final whistle, speaking about it after the final whistle is not OK.
“Frank has to learn, as a young coach he will, but on the final whistle — Frank has to learn to finish it there.
“Final whistle, close the book — he didn’t do that and I don’t like that.”
While Lampard said he regretted some of the words he used during the incident, he doesn’t regret defending his team.
Chelsea take on Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend in their final game of the season. A point will guarantee a top-four finish but they will also have half an eye on what happens at the King Power Stadium.
