Frank Lampard admits he does not miss London due to feeling at home in Merseyside as Everton manager.

Relayed by the Football Daily, Lampard opened up about his affection for his new settlement which has allowed him to put the English capital to one side.

London was very much the Chelsea legend’s home for the majority of his life.

Born in Romford, the iconic midfielder started out his career at West Ham United, before becoming a star at Stamford Bridge for over a decade.

Brief stints at Manchester City and New York City tail-ended his dazzling tenure on the pitch, but that was not the end for super Frank.

He swiftly moved into management, taking Derby County to a Championship Playoff final, before landing the job of his dreams the season after.

In 2019, Lampard took the role as Chelsea manager, guiding his beloved club to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and an FA Cup final.

Sadly, the fairy-tale came to an end half-way through his second spell.

After a poor run of results and performances, Roman Abramovich replaced the ex-England international with Thomas Tuchel.

Understandably hurt by the sacking but not content on feeling sorry for himself, Lampard bagged the Everton job just over 12 months after leaving Chelsea.

The 44-year-old has since done a respectable job at Goodison Park, finishing 16th in his maiden term.

This campaign has produced more joy for the Toffees’ coach, with only Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United conceding fewer league goals than his side.

Continue with this upward trajectory, and the sour memories of his Chelsea exit will be pushed to the back of the cupboard.

“I got the opportunity to come to this club, it’s an amazing club, and I just want to win. I want to do well, to make us better,” said Lampard.

“Part of that is to fully immerse yourself in it in all senses. I’ve found that relatively easy because people have welcomed me.

“I love living in this part of the world. I don’t miss London in that sense. I enjoy going back on certain days off but I really enjoy being here.”

London will always welcome you back, Frank.
