Richard Nartey has revealed he wasn’t even aware that Kylian Mbappe was once a member of the Chelsea family.
Speaking to The Athletic, Nartey, who started his career at Cobham, admitted that Mbappe’s trial with the Blues completely went over his head.
Some of you might be in complete shock as well.
Chelsea actually had the chance to sign one of the world’s best and most expensive players!?

Retrospection is a wonderful thing, and had the Stamford Bridge chain of command been in possession of a time machine, they may have pushed harder to keep hold of the Paris Saint-Germain gem.
Kylian Mbappe came to Chelsea
Mbappe was invited for a trial in South West London when he was only 12.
The now 23-year-old headed to the English capital with his parents and brother to see what the Premier League side had to offer.
He was apparently ‘starstruck’ by the set-up, and even managed to get a photo with Didier Drogba.
His only appearance for Chelsea to date was against Charlton, winning 6-0 or 7-0 but failing to get on to the scoresheet.
However, other than those who were there to witness the Frenchman’s brief foray into British football, Mbappe’s spell in a blue jersey is nothing but a faded memory.
“It was the same with Christian Pulisic when that came out (Pulisic also had a trial with the club in 2010). Then I got sent a picture of him with all of us and I had no clue,” confessed Nartey when asked about Mbappe’s trial.

Nartey now plays for Salford City in League Two and is only a few months older than PSG’s £154m attacker.
Funny how football works, ey?
