Enzo Maresca made a number of changes to his Chelsea side ahead of their pre-season friendly against Club America overnight.
The Blues picked up their first win under the new manager in dominant 3-0 fashion, with a couple of key tweaks being crucial to the turnaround in form.
Reece James impressed in a more orthodox position on the right of defence, while Malo Gusto was given the role of inverting into midfield.

Romeo Lavia was imperious in the middle of the park, however it was another midfielder who actually had the far bigger impact on the side as a whole.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was making his first appearance for the club after suffering with an injury problem as soon as he joined the Blues.

It didn’t take him long to show his abilities to Chelsea fans. His pinpoint cross was given the nod of approval by Marc Guiu for his first goal for his new club.
Maresca will no doubt be thrilled with what he saw from the former Leicester City man, with them working alongside each other to great effect last season.
This has left Dewsbury-Hall confident that he has the skills to play in the system being brought to the Blues ahead of next season.
Competition for places in Chelsea midfield
Competition for places in the middle of the park is going to be strong this season, with Enzo Fernandez making his return to the side as a second half substitute.
Moises Caicedo is certainly going to play a key role next season, while Lavia will also be hoping that injuries leave him be for this season.
However, based on what was seen during his debut appearance, the starting side against Manchester City should definitely include Dewsbury-Hall.
His £30m move does not look as if it has just been made for the sake of it, with reports stating Conor Gallagher is close to a move to Atletico Madrid.
The Englishman definitely has the ability to add goals to the side from midfield, and this could be key in a game where chances will not be flowing like against the Champions.
