Chelsea loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga has once again made it clear that he wants to stay at Real Madrid.

Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Real Madrid on loan during the summer and hinted earlier this month that he was keen to remain in the Spanish capital.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Champions League tie against Braga later today, with the Daily Mail relaying his quotes, the goalkeeper told reporters again that he hopes to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

If Kepa does return to Chelsea in the summer, he will have to compete with compatriot Robert Sanchez after the Blues’ decision to sign the 25-year-old from Brighton & Hove Albion in the last transfer window.

Kepa Arrizabalaga hoping to stay at Real Madrid

If Chelsea and Real Madrid can sort something out, it does not look like Kepa will be coming back to Stamford Bridge.

“I said it then and I still hope to stay,” the 29-year-old was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. “But, we haven’t spoken about that or negotiated anything yet. It’s only October and we’re focused on the busy schedule.”

Chelsea to let Kepa Arrizabalaga go and sign a new goalkeeper?

With Kepa happy at Real Madrid, you probably cannot rule out him staying there.

Chelsea have Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic so do not need to replace the Spain international, but reports suggest that they could still end up buying a new goalkeeper irrespective of his future.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues will be keeping an eye on Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale after he lost his spot in the team to David Raya.

Still, you would imagine that a lot needs to happen if the Arsenal goalkeeper is to end up at Stamford Bridge.

Ultimately, then, Kepa looks destined to leave west London for good, but we are not expecting Chelsea to go out and buy a new shot-stopper. It is not impossible, especially with the club seemingly looking at Ramsdale, but it does seem unlikely following Sanchez’s arrival.
