Pundit Frank Lebouef has claimed he wants Chelsea to sell two first team players in order to allow the club to sign Joao Felix permanently.

He told ESPN that he would be happy to see Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount leave the club if it allows them to bring in the 23-year-old at the end of his loan spell.

The Portugal international has frequently impressed since joining in January, starting near enough every game that he has not been suspended for.

He has impressed a number of his teammates since making his debut for the Blues. Enzo Fernandez has already expressed his delight at playing alongside him this season.

Despite only having a couple of goals to his name, he has been the driving force to an attack that have finally begun to find the net again.

He scored for the first time at Stamford Bridge last week, after a display where he was very difficult to stop.

Lebouef has also been impressed by the capabilities of Felix, claiming he would happily see him replace Pulisic and Mount if it is required to raise funds.

He said: “Hopefully Chelsea will be able to sell a few players – maybe Pulisic and Mount – and can then get Felix on a permanent. It would be a lot of money, that’s the only worry for the owners. But in terms of a football player, I would sign him.”

Mount is currently at a standstill regarding a potential new contract at Stamford Bridge. He is expected by many to be on the move at the end of the season.

Pulisic meanwhile has struggled to tie down regular minutes when he has been fit this season, and the addition of multiple attackers in January makes things even more difficult to break into.
