Chelsea manager Thoma Tuchel has confirmed that two players may be able to return to training at Cobham on Thursday.

Tuchel has said that Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-Odoi could be allowed back on the training pitches today.

He’s explained that the duo have both returned negative Covid-19 tests after a period of isolation. Therefore, they’ll be reunited with the group today if they return another negative test.

The Chelsea attackers have both been sidelined with the virus, so it’ll be great to have them back.

“If I understand it right, we need a negative test first of all and we had that for Romelu, Callum and Chilwell today. Ben will not be involved in the Aston Villa game but the other two can be on the pitch tomorrow if they test negative,” Tuchel said.

Chelsea squad strengthening just in time

Yes, Chelsea have lost ground in the Premier League title race. They are now third in the table after a mini blip and have a six-point deficit to leaders Manchester City.

The Blues are close to getting their full squad back together, though.

It was a welcome sight to see Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante all get some game time on Wednesday night.

Chelsea will face rivals Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-finals after beating Brentford 2-0 last night in the quarter-finals.

Lukaku and Hudson-Odoi will bring some extra attacking firepower for the Christmas run-in.

Chelsea fans will hope that they’ll now start to see the best of centre-forward Lukaku again, something Alan Shearer said they desperately need.
