Ross Barkley earned another start in pre-season during a clash with London rivals Arsenal on Wednesday, and some Chelsea fans on Twitter raved about his latest performance.
The 24-year-old has had a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge since joining from Everton in January, but will hope he makes an impact under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Barkley has been involved in pre-season as part of a three-man midfield and is beginning to recapture his best form.
Chelsea ended up drawing 1-1 after 90 minutes with Arsenal, before losing 6-5 on penalties in the International Champions Cup.
Sarri made 11 substitutions during the contest, but Barkley got another 78 minutes under his belt and the play-maker may be eyeing a starting spot ahead of the Community Shield against Manchester City.
Barkley previously showed at Everton he can be a creator and goal-scorer, something that made him a permanent feature in the England squad at one point, too.
Although there is certainly stiff competition at Chelsea this campaign in the midfield area, a selection of supporters are clearly behind him and feel he is benefiting from Sarri’s arrival.
