Chelsea will reportedly consider Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as their main target if Thibaut Courtois leaves – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter seem open to the idea of signing him.

According to Sky Sports, Maurizio Sarri’s side will have Pickford as their primary target this summer if they are forced into finding a new number one.

The report explains that Courtois is likely to depart Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid, meaning the Blues would be without the first-choice option in goal.

Pickford only joined them from Sunderland on a five-year deal last summer.

As a result, it is understood that the Merseyside club will resist any move from Chelsea for Pickford.

The 24-year-old is fresh off the back of impressing for England this summer at the World Cup and was also a standout at Goodison Park last season.

Pickford has proven himself to be a goalkeeper that has a brilliant range of passing, something that could lend itself well to the way Sarri sets up his team, while he is also a proven shot-stopper.

His rise from Sunderland to England number one happened rapidly and he is now considered one of the best young goalkeepers in world football.

There is no doubt that Chelsea would find it difficult replacing a world-class goalkeeper like Courtois.

However, they reportedly feel the England number one can fill his shoes.

A selection of Blues supporters are of the belief that Pickford ticks a lot of boxes for a transfer target and would like to see him at Stamford Bridge next season.
