Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko is a huge fan of Chelsea youngster Mykhailo Mudryk and thinks he’s got limitless potential.
Mykhailo Mudryk, who’s only 22, is yet to really announce himself since his high-profile move to Stamford Bridge back in January.
The left-winger has sensational pace and close dribbling, but zero goals in his first 19 Blues appearances raises huge question marks of his £89million (BBC) price tag.
He’s received a big vote of confidence from 26-year-old player Zinchenko, though.
£32million star Zinchenko (Sky Sports), who plays for rivals Arsenal, is a big fan of Mudryk.
It’s no real surprise that the Ukrainian has delivered a glowing verdict when talking about his international teammate.
When asked about Mudryk’s pace on FIVE’s YouTube channel, Zinchenko said: “I’m honest with you, I’ve never seen something like this. (How good can he be?) Honestly, the sky is the limit. The quality he has is incredible.
“The thing is guys, I know it’s price tag, pressure, media. I used to speak with him a lot, you know? He came from a different league, from the Ukrainian league and this Ukrainian league, at the moment, unfortunately, is not even that level which was 10 years ago. when all Brazilians were attracted – Fernandinho, William – that was a good league. But now, he came straight away to Chelsea and you want him to see straight away? Please! It takes time! I don’t wish him this against Arsenal, but quality, oof!”
Glenn Hoddle recently told the Kelly and Wrighty Show that there’s definitely a quality player waiting to come out of Mudryk.
Chelsea fans have only seen in tiny glimpses the sort of ability that Mudryk showed at Shakhtar Donetsk.
The early signs are Mauricio Pochettino’s side will dominate a lot of games this year and attack freely, so we can’t wait to see what Mudryk can do when he’s fully fit.
The Ukrainian speedster should certainly be taking mental notes on what Raheem Sterling is currently doing in the XI.
