Reports have claimed that Chelsea transfer target Moises Caicedo grew up idolising someone who actually played for them.
According to The Athletic, the Ecuador international has always been a massive fan of N’golo Kante, whose shoes he may be about to fill at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have established Caicedo as their number one target to strengthen the side this summer, with a midfielder a crucial figure to be added during this transfer window.

They are currently looking for the perfect player to partner Enzo Fernandez for the coming few seasons. Everyone at the club has so far been very impressed by the World Cup winner since he joined back in January.
However, they have acknowledged that signing someone who compliments his skills perfectly will only bring even more out of the 22-year-old.
Many will have thought that they will have already had that figure at the club, although injuries severely limited his ability to feature in the last couple of seasons.
Caicedo idolised Kante
Kante was a crucial player for the club for a number of seasons, and replacing him now he’s left for Saudi Arabia is sure to be a massive task.
It seems they have decided Caicedo is the best figure for that job, and given the fact that he is such an admirer of the Frenchman, he may end up being the perfect signing.

He has been described as ‘incredible’ by Adam Lallana after winning player of the season for his club last season.
There is still a reported gap between what both sides require to get the deal confirmed, with Chelsea perhaps making things more difficult for themselves after what they paid for Fernandez back in January.
After seeing the price agreed on between Arsenal and West Ham for Declan Rice, Brighton are reportedly not prepared to give up easily despite allowing him to leave this summer.
