Declan Rice has said that Chelsea’s Mason Mount is one of the best players he’s ever played with.
Rice, 23, is a West Ham and England star currently impressing at the World Cup in Qatar. The former Chelsea youth product has risen to fame in West Ham colours, developing into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Rice is joined in the England squad at the World Cup by Chelsea talisman and best friend Mount, with the duo previously playing together at Cobham. They’re reunited as teammates now at international level, forming a strong combination in the England midfield alongside Jude Bellingham.

Mount one of the best Rice has played with
Rice has paid tribute to his close friend by naming him as one of his best ever teammates:
“I don’t need to talk too much about Mase. He just doesn’t fit the agenda of what people want an attacking midfield player to look like. He is one of the best players I’ve played with. He is such a team player, such a hard-working, honest guy,” Rice said, as quoted by the Guardian.
“Sometimes people online just don’t like him. For what reason, I honestly don’t know. His numbers for Chelsea are incredible.”

There aren’t too many 23-year-olds in the sport right now that have achieved as much as Mount in his short career so far.
Chelsea’s attacking midfielder does come in for criticism at times like Rice mentions, but a lot of it is way over the top.
It’s fair to say the Blues playmaker needs to try recapture his best form after a slow start to this season, which just goes to show the standards he’s set in previous years.
Stuart Pearce explained earlier this week that Mount is someone that “goes under the radar” for what he does on a football pitch.
