Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is very unlikely to be available for tonight’s game against Liverpool.

That is according to reports in the media.

Chelsea have travelled to Liverpool for Wednesday night’s Premier League showdown at Anfield, which is a preview of next month’s League Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Unfortunately, the midweek game may come too early for Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson, 22, has missed the last few Chelsea games while away at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, his Senegal side were eliminated from the tournament on Monday night.

Speaking via Football London in yesterday’s press conference, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino didn’t rule out the possibility of Jackson returning in time to make the matchday squad versus Liverpool this week.

Now, London World claims that it’s ‘almost impossible’ for Jackson to return in time for Chelsea at Liverpool.

It is explained that there’s little chance of the 22-year-old getting back in time because Senegal’s group travelled to Dakar together before being allowed to return to their respective clubs.

The report shares that Jackson was still in Dakar at midday on Wednesday, with the player jetting out to London later today.

It seemed a tall order to have Jackson back in the country and in the right state to play at Anfield.

We don’t like the idea of throwing him in just 48 hours after a big disappointment at international level.

Hopefully, his comeback appearance will be this weekend at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
