Liverpool supporters were already dreading the thought of their side confronting Timo Werner as they host Chelsea in the Premier League this Thursday.
Jurgen Klopp’s men got back to winning ways last night after they defeated Sheffield United 2-0.
It ended a run of four league games without victory for the Reds, which has been a rarity in recent times.
This will have given them a much-needed boost before they welcome Chelsea to Anfield later this week.
However, some Liverpool fans were not completely content with the performances of Ozan Kabak and Nathaniel Phillips.
The young centre-back pairing was playing together for just the second time this season and could well partner each other again against Chelsea.
This idea did not sit well with several of the Reds faithful, especially if it meant Kabak and Phillips had to try contain Werner for 90 minutes.
There is probably no better time to be taking on Liverpool.
With all their injury concerns and miss firing forwards, the chinks in Klopp’s armour have seriously been starting to show.
Chelsea meanwhile have begun to cement over those cracks under Thomas Tuchel.
They’ve become a defensively astute and well-organised unit, even if it means their attacking prowess has been hindered.
But this could be a fantastic opportunity for the likes of Werner to fill their boots and take advantage of Liverpool’s restricted rear-guard.

Werner should be licking his lips at the thought of taking on this Liverpool team.
He has the pace to trouble any defender. All he needs is to rediscover his scoring form to accompany it.
Provided he’s given the right service, I have every faith the German will start converting on a regular basis again.
