Chelsea are really struggling at the moment, but the Blues still look to have their appeal.

FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji is one of the rising stars in football right now and has not ruled out a move to Chelsea in the near future.

The 18-year-old has been speaking about the Blues’ interest in him, with Ekstrabladet relaying his quotes.

Last month, the Evening Standard reported that Chelsea had added Bardghji to their transfer shortlist for January.

Bardghji is not in England yet but has already punished one Premier League club, scoring in Copenhagen’s 4-3 win against Manchester United in the Champions League earlier this season.

Roony Bardghji dreaming of Chelsea

Bardghji has admitted that it would be a dream to play for Chelsea or Barcelona.

When asked about leaving Copenhagen and Chelsea and Barcelona’s interest in him, the Sweden U21 international said: “I feel ready, but when it will be, whether it is now or later, I don’t know. Right now, I’m focusing on getting in top shape and playing football. Then we have to see what happens.

“It’s a dream. It’s always great to hear about something like this, because it means you’re doing well. But I try not to think about it too much. It is special, but it’s not something that stresses me out.

“I just take the positive in it and see it as motivation. This means I have to continue as I am doing and, of course, try to do it even better.”

Chelsea should sign Roony Bardghji

Since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, perhaps Chelsea have become too hung up on signing young players and building an elite team for the future.

Even so, Bardghji has so much potential and has shown that he may be able to make an impact now with his performances in the Champions League this term.

The wide man has scored seven goals in 17 league appearances in the current campaign, which is pretty good for a player his age. He is certainly one individual Chelsea should have on their radar, and it does look like that is the case.
