West Ham Striker Michail Antonio has claimed on ‘The Footballer’s Football Podcast’ that he cannot believe Todd Boehly did not install a buy clause in Joao Felix’s loan deal.

The Portugal international moved to Stamford Bridge in January, with it currently only being for the remainder of the season.

He has not taken long to impress his new fans. He has been the best player for the side in their last two games.

He opened his account last weekend against the Hammers, and also came closest to finding the net in the Champions League last night.

The Blues were made to pay for missed chances as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund,

Felix impressed again in front of a watching Boehly, hitting the bar in the first half.

Antonio confused at Boehly

There will certainly be a fear that all of this ability will go to waste if a permanent deal is not reached at the end of the season.

Antonio has claimed that it shouldn’t even be something the club should be worrying about.

He said: “I think it’s crazy, honestly. When you are doing the paperwork and you bring the player in, it’s so easy to put something in to say if he does well we’re going to sign him.

“But it’s not really that much of a biggie because he’s there on loan, he’s already in the club, so if they really want him I feel like there’s always going to be an easier opportunity to sign him in the middle of it because he’s already there.”

The 23-year-old will be looking to help Chelsea return to winning ways when they take on managerless Southampton at the weekend. They are looking to make inroads on a run of two wins in the last 13 games.
