Joao Felix has claimed in an interview with ELEVEN that Chelsea fans creating a chant for him is something that never happened while he was at Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese star has been settling in well as the weeks have gone by on what is currently only a loan spell at Stamford Bridge.

After a shaky start and a red card on his debut, Felix has quickly become arguably the first name on the teamsheet for Graham Potter.

His performances, particularly in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, have captivated supporters in a time when results have been bleak to say the least.

He has proven an instant hit with fans. Those who attend matches have frequently been heard chanting his name with their newest song.

Felix has spoken about how this was a bit of a surprise to him, given the fact that he had never been afforded the same reception at his prior club.

Felix loving his chant

He said: “I was at Atletico for 3 years and I didn’t have a chant, here at Chelsea, I had one after one game.

“They (Chelsea fans) have a chant for almost every player, it’s funny”

Blues supporters will be hoping that the club are impressed enough by the performances of Felix to potentially make his move to Stamford Bridge a permanent one.

The forward is beginning to strike up a relationship with some of the players he has played with most often.

The assist from fellow January addition Enzo Fernandez against West Ham has shown that the pair have the ability to link up well, and this is something they will need more of in the coming weeks.

It is almost that certain that Felix gets his first taste of a big top six clash at the weekend, when Chelsea travel to Tottenham.
