Denis Zakaria confesses that his short Chelsea career has not been up to standard so far.
Speaking to Tribal Football, Zakaria reflected on what’s been a difficult few months since he set sail for Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The 26-year-old’s arrival on loan from Juventus was met with a few raised eyebrows from those bound to the Blues.
After Todd Boehly spent vast sums on Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the last of the six signings was something of an outlier.
He did not arrive with the same price tag, nor pedigree, as those who were also added to senior squad.

His move from Italy was similar to that of Saul Niguez switching Spain for South West London last season.
Saul was brought in to provide cover for the main midfielders, a position he struggled to maintain.
Will Denis Zakaria crumble at Chelsea?
Zakaria’s transfer has a very familiar feel to it, and is currently heading in the same direction as the stuttering Spaniard.
So far this term, the Switzerland international has started just two games for Chelsea.
A goal on his debut against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League has been the only highlight for the midfielder.
It’s been a rough period for the Juve loanee, one he hopes to improve once domestic football resumes next week.
“I’m still positive about it all, and then I’ll see what will happen. I still need to improve some things and show the coach what I can. When I get to play, I have to show that I am good,” admitted Zakaria.

“It has not been enough so far, but I work hard to get my chance in this big club.”
There isn’t long left for the Zakaria to impress Potter and Todd Boehly and potentially make his transfer permanent.
Chelsea have played just under half their Premier League fixtures, will be challenged in the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund, and have an FA Cup fixture with Manchester City on the horizon.
Fail to defeat Dortmund or City, and Zakaria’s chances of featuring for the Blues will decrease even further.
