‘It’s shambolic’: Stan Collymore furious at what £12m Chelsea player has done this week

Stan Collymore has told CaughtOffside that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s antics after the Barcelona game last weekend are completely unacceptable.

The Chelsea striker was captured celebrating the El Clasico victory in the dressing room of the home side, despite leaving the club back in August.

The image came out just over 24 hours after the Blues had been held to an uninspiring 2-2 draw against Everton at Stamford Bridge.

The former Arsenal man has been on the wrong end of an all-round terrible transfer this season. It was perhaps doomed when Thomas Tuchel, who the £12m signing was made for, was sacked just one game into Aubameyang’s Chelsea career.

Graham Potter has seemingly not fancied using the Gabon man, with him leaving the striker out of numerous squads and not considering him during goal droughts.

Collymore furious with Aubameyang

Collymore has claimed the manager will be happy to see the back of Aubameyang, especially after his recent antics.

He said: “What can you say about the photo Ferran Torres shared of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang celebrating with the Barcelona squad after they beat Real Madrid on Sunday? – It’s shambolic.

“A lot of younger fans will say ‘what’s the problem?’ – but it’s not right. This is an elite-level competitive sport – you do not cross certain boundaries and celebrating another team’s victory inside their dressing room is an absolute no-no.

“He’s a Chelsea player so while he’s there, he should be coming across as blue through and through but he doesn’t. He doesn’t really stand for anything, he’s ubiquitous. He’s primed to disappear into the Middle East and Graham Potter will probably be thanking his lucky stars.”

While it is unclear where Aubameyang will end up, Chelsea will be planning for a future without him, especially with the upcoming signing of Christopher Nkunku at the end of the season.
