ITV pundit raves about Chelsea internatonal who’s ‘almost unplayable’ right now

Lee Dixon has described Chelsea man Romelu Lukaku as “almost unplayable” right now after his international performance yesterday.

Blues centre-forward Lukaku was in action on Thursday night for his country Belgium, who thrashed Estonia 5-2 away from home. Despite going behind, Belgium scored five goals in response before a late Estonia consolation.

Lukaku, 28, was at the heart of his nation’s turnaround with a goal in each half.

Firstly, the left-footed striker reacted fastest to a loose ball in the box to tuck a shot on the swivel into the corner. His second was a lot more conventional. He showed his dominant physical power to shrug off a defender in the box and finish emphatically on his right.

ITV pundit Dixon was left raving about the Chelsea frontman after his midweek showing for his country.

“When it’s going for you it bounces to you in the box. He spins well and gets it in the corner [for his first goal]. He’s almost unplayable at the moment,” Dixon said on ITV 1 (11:55pm).

World superstar Cristiano Ronaldo became the men’s all-time leading goalscoring in international games this week, with the 110th and 111th goal of his Portugal career in a win against Republic of Ireland

Chelsea’s own forward Lukaku is another player who’s prolific on the international stage.

He’s netted an amazing 66 goals in 99 caps for Belgium, which means he’s just outside the top 20 all-time international goalscorers.

Lukaku looks like a goal machine whenever he plays, so it doesn’t seem unthinkable that he can really try push for the 100-goal mark by the time he retires.

Aged 28, he’s at the peak of his powers right now. It’s worth pointing out that countries play so many fixtures in modern times.
