Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shared he’s been delighted with his own form in the opening months of the season.

Loftus-Cheek, 26, started and impressed last night in a comprehensive 3-0 Chelsea win at home to AC Milan.

The midfielder had been used off the bench during Graham Potter’s first two games in charge, but he showed last night against Milan what he can do with an eye-catching 90 minutes under his belt.

Loftus-Cheek form

Chelsea’s star actually found himself in favour with former boss Thomas Tuchel during the end of his reign, so he’s actually had plenty of minutes so far in the 2022/23 campaign.

It’s been a restart on the season for the players now Potter’s arrived, but Loftus-Cheek has shared he feels in a really good place right now.

“I feel good. I’ve had a good start to the season. I haven’t started in a few so tonight I wanted to play well, so I’m really happy and really happy with the win,” Loftus-Cheek said.

If fit and firing, Loftus-Cheek is such an asset in the Blues XI with his physicality and quality on the ball.

He bullied opposition Milan players on the Champions League stage with his sheer power when it comes to winning and retaining the ball.

A confident Loftus-Cheek is great news for everybody.

Midfielder’s fascinating journey so far

Loftus-Cheek’s career can definitely be described as up and down, so you never quite know what’s around the corner.

However, it does look like the Englishman has matured over the past 12 months and is becoming a reliable player within the Chelsea squad.

He’s managed to adapt his game to be really suited to playing in a deeper midfield pivot, which gives him a licence to express both offensive and defensive skills.

There’s no doubt the midfield colossus has everything to be a top player, something that everyone has always know. His major obstacle has been consistently and impact at the highest level, though.

For Loftus-Cheek, he needs to build upon the good work done under Tuchel and try kick on once again during Potter’s tenure.

It’s worth highlighting the player’s versatility means Potter did use him reportedly use him at right-back in a behind-closed-doors friendly, but it would be great to see him try nail down a permanent midfield position.
