Jack Grealish sends message to Noni Madueke after he impressed for England vs Finland

It was a mixed bag as far as performances go for Chelsea players who were chosen to represent England this week.

Levi Colwill had everyone talking when he pulled off a sensational goal line clearance for the Three Lions last week, although he was part of a defence who conceded late to lose.

The same could not be said for superstar Cole Palmer on the other hand. He was horribly misused in the defeat to Greece, and quiet again last night against Finland.

He was replaced by his Chelsea teammate Noni Madueke, who was in the squad for just the second time in his career.

It is fair to say that the winger was looking to impress from the start. Everytime he picked up the ball he looked to take on the opposition full-back.

Madueke seemed to leave quite the impression on his teammates, with Jack Grealish being one of those to take to social media to praise the Chelsea man.

He commented: “My Brother” on the Instagram post by the winger, where he also received praise from other players in the Premier League.

After not starting the opening game of the season for Chelsea, Madueke has made it very difficult for Enzo Maresca to drop him this season.

Madueke proving undroppable for Chelsea

Even when there were some calls for him to do so before their last game against Nottingham Forest, he stayed true to the England international, reaping the rewards with his equalising goal.

Madueke is competing with the likes of Pedro Neto for minutes, with the former Wolves man certainly joining in the summer with the intention of becoming a starting player.

The Portuguese star is beginning to up his game too, scoring in his last two starts for the club in the cup competitions.

So far though Madueke has held off the challenge, and this will likely remain the case when the Blues make the trip to Anfield this Sunday to face league-leaders Liverpool.
