Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea fans have fallen out of love with their club, and thinks Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is the one to help restore that connection.
The Blues’ woeful Premier League form showed no signs of slowing down as they were beaten 3-1 by a heavily-rotated Nottingham Forest side.
Calum McFarlane’s efforts to restore a good feeling at Stamford Bridge have quickly evaporated. He was the man in charge as Chelsea went 2-0 behind at home in the quickest time since 2017.

Jamie Carragher picks Andoni Iraola as his ideal next Chelsea manager
It is not until the end of the season when Chelsea fans will be able to get excited about a new manager, and right now there is no clear favourite for the role.
Jamie Carragher was talking to Sky Sports last night about who he believes should be brought in by the club as Liam Rosenior’s permanent replacement.

He is leaning towards Andoni Iraola, with the idea being that he is best suited to help the Chelsea supporters build a connection with their club again.
He said: “We’re talking about Chelsea by the way, this is a team used to winning the Premier League. When you see someone like Iraola, I don’t think you could ever fall out of love with his teams. I probably would like to see him in a bigger job to see how he reacts.
“I almost feel like Chelsea supporters need to fall in love with the club again, right now, because there’s a real dislike for the people running the club and those playing for it as well.”
Chelsea fans, it’s time to have a discussion about Marc Cucurella…
Not good enough for Nottingham Forest's opener!
Carragher agrees with Behdad Eghbali about next Chelsea manager
It is broadly accepted that Chelsea need a manager who has Premier League experience, given they hired both Enzo Maresca and Rosenior without it.
The likes of Marco Silva and Eddie Howe have also been mentioned, but the fact the Spaniard is set to leave Bournemouth this summer does lend to reports he could be the one.
Behdad Eghbali has personally chosen Iraola to be the next manager, although it remains to be seen how much faith the fans have in any decision made by the higher ups at Chelsea these days.
The relationship between the ownership and supporters is at an all-time low at the moment, with more protests expected before the end of the season.
