Jason Cundy has claimed that Kai Havertz was the standout individual on the pitch during Chelsea’s win over Everton on Monday.
Thomas Tuchel’s Blues continued their impressive form with a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge against Everton.
Havertz was heavily involved during the Premier League meeting, as he came into the starting XI and thrived in the false nine striker position.
The £140,000-a-week (Spotrac) attacker saw his shot deflect in off Ben Godfrey for an own goal, plus he drew the foul that allowed Jorginho to score from the penalty spot.
It was a really encouraging display from the German left-footer, who also saw a well-taken goal ruled out by VAR for a handball in the build-up.
Cundy singled out Havertz for praise after his latest Chelsea performance, but feels there is much more to come.
“We are starting to see the Havertz that we thought we were going to sign. There is a huge way to go, but he was the best player on the pitch today,” Cundy said, as quoted by the club’s official Youtube account.

If Havertz can replicate the kind of form he shows at ex-club Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea know they’ve got a special talent on their hands.
The 21-year-old has been a little inconsistent so far during his first year in London, but he’s shown in flames why he’s so highly rated.
It seemed to suit him massively against Everton in the central forward position.
Chelsea have some real competition for places in all areas of the pitch right now, with Havertz certainly making a real strong case for himself to start more.
