Jason Cundy has ripped into the transfer rumours he’s heard about Mason Mount potentially leaving Chelsea.
There’s been widespread talk in the media in recent weeks suggesting Mason Mount, 24, could exit Chelsea to join Manchester United this summer.
Journalist Simon Phillips explained on his Substack last week that Mount is open to joining Man United in the summer transfer window. He adds that the Blues are likely to grant his sale if the player is clear he wants to go and the £70million asking price is met.
With just a year left on Mount’s deal at Stamford Bridge, something will have to give soon enough.

TalkSPORT pundit and Chelsea fan Cundy isn’t impressed with the entire Mount transfer saga. He’s amazed that the academy graduate may be allowed to walk through the exit doors.
“I’m not convinced that both sides want it enough. I don’t know, but it just feels like Chelsea has not made enough of an effort. Mase feels a little bit like, I’m not feeling it,” Cundy told talkSPORT.
“… To let Mason go is pretty shocking. It’s not a good look.”

We agree it’ll be quite the body blow if Chelsea do lose Mount.
The attacking midfielder has been the heart of the Blues side in the last few years, albeit his form did dip during the most recent 2022/23 season.
Any optimistic Chelsea supporters will hope incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino can help influence Mount to sign a new deal. We’re guessing one foot is out the door already, though.
We’re still pretty confident there will be a core nucleus of academy graduates in the first team next season.
