Jason Cundy has delivered a glowing verdict when talking about a Premier League player who’s reportedly on Chelsea’s radar this summer.

Now that Enzo Maresca has been confirmed as Chelsea’s next head coach, the supporters can start thinking about the potential new signings that may be joining him at Stamford Bridge.

In particular, the Blues are linked with one star that has just earned some huge praise.

Jason Cundy loves Chelsea target

TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy was left seriously impressed by Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze after his England display on Monday night in a 3-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The 25-year-old attacker, who started on the left wing, put in the kind of eye-catching display that must have enhanced his chances of getting on the plane for Euro 2024 this summer.

When discussing Eze on talkSPORT (7:09am, 4 June), Cundy said: “Do you know what I love about him? His strength on the ball as well. He has got a lovely low centre of gravity, but he used those hips, those thighs just to ease his way around. He is incredibly difficult to knock off the ball.”

Eberechi Eze linked with Blues

GiveMeSport recently claimed that Chelsea and Tottenham could be battling it out this summer to sign Palace’s star Eze. It is claimed that the Eagles won’t consider his sale for anything less than £60m, though.

Eze has just finished another strong season at Selhurst Park, scoring 11 goals and making six assists in 31 Palace matches across all competitions.

His England performance this week highlighted what an individual talent he is. FotMob data recorded that Eze completed three dribbles, won seven duels and had 36 touches during an hour against Bosnia.

The Chelsea Chronicle definitely thinks the playmaker has the ability to make a step up at club level, but perhaps he’s not the kind of profile that Chelsea desperately needs right now. Instead, an experienced and proven striker should be top of the wish-list.
