This time last year, Chelsea were working on a deal to bring Joao Felix to Stamford Bridge.

They, of course, got their man, with Joao Felix arriving at the club on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Unfortunately, things did not exactly go to plan for both parties. In 16 Premier League appearances, the forward managed to score just four times as Chelsea went on to finish 12th in the table. Even so, Felix’s latest post on Instagram shows he has not erased his time there out of his mind.

Felix shared a picture of him arriving at a game in a Chelsea tracksuit. It was one of several images in his post, which was captioned “Thank you 2023…Bring it on 2024”.

After returning to Atletico last summer, Felix joined Barcelona on loan.

His spell there is going much better than his one at Chelsea, with the 24-year-old scoring the winning goal against his parent club in December. He has also managed to net three times in the Champions League for Xavi’s side.

Chelsea have forgotten about Joao Felix

As for Chelsea, they will not be thinking about Felix, who was unable to do much for them last season.

Since the Portugal international left the club, Christopher Nkunku has arrived, while they have also brought in Cole Palmer.

Nkunku has been injured so has not been able to make much of an impact at Stamford Bridge yet, but Palmer is really thriving at the moment.

The former Manchester City player has reached double figures for goal contributions in the Premier League following Chelsea’s win against Luton Town on Saturday. In the game, he scored twice and provided an assist.

The likes of Palmer and Nkunku have not exactly taken Mauricio Pochettino‘s side back into the top four yet. However, they are attacking talents who have allowed the club to quickly move on from their failed Felix experiment.
