Joao Pedro has walked into a Chelsea dressing room where he will link up with lots of quality players.
It was confirmed earlier this week that Joao Pedro has joined Chelsea, penning a huge eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old attacker has already joined up with the Blues squad as he eyes a potential debut in the Club World Cup quarter-final clash against Palmeiras on Saturday.
Chelsea’s plan with Pedro is to use him as a striker or a wide option because he’s got the versatility to play anywhere across the frontline. His record of 30 goals in 70 Brighton appearances across all competitions is an indication that he does know where the back of the net is.

Joao Pedro excited to play with Chelsea trio
During a Q&A on Chelsea’s Instagram account, Blues signing Pedro answered several questions.
When asked to name who is he most looking forward to playing with at Chelsea, Pedro responded with the names Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez.
Incidentally, Pedro also named Frank Lampard as his favourite ever Chelsea player.

In fairness, Chelsea’s current midfield partnership of Caicedo and Fernandez is pretty formidable. That’s even before you throw Blues talisman Palmer into the mix as the chief No.10.
Chelsea think they have an elite combination in the spine of their team with Caicedo, Fernandez and Palmer.
Pedro believes his best position is at striker, so we suspect at some stage we may get to see him play ahead of Palmer in the Chelsea XI.

Where Joao Pedro outperformed Chelsea forwards in the 2024/25 season
According to The Athletic, Pedro converted 21 per cent of his shots into goals last season — a better rate than all of Chelsea’s forwards.
With Pedro and Liam Delap added to the Chelsea squad this season, they can make themselves instant favourites if they provide a clinical touch in front of goal. It’s definitely an area where the Blues must improve to compete higher up the league table.
Pedro has proven during his time with Brighton and Watford he’s super composed in the final third, but his challenge now will be competing against better teammates for minutes.
