Mason Mount earned plenty of congratulations from teammates and admirers after being named the Chelsea men’s player of the year.
Blues fans recently voted for their POTY and it felt like there was only ever going to be one winner.
Mount has enjoyed a superb season for club and country, building upon his promising debut campaign in a Chelsea shirt.

He is a crucial element in Thomas Tuchel’s plans, as he is for Gareth Southgate.
The 22-year-old joins an illustrious list of players to have been awarded the Blues individual honour.
Previous holders include John Terry, Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, and most recently, Mateo Kovacic.
Last year’s champion posted a message on Twitter, praising Mount for his latest achievement.
Jody Morris and Tammy Abraham both issued their positive reaction via Instagram.

Kovacic possibly could have rivalled Mount for the honour, had he not been injured since the middle of April.
A classy Croatian customer, Chelsea have missed the midfielder’s presence in recent matches.
Other potential candidates were N’Golo Kante, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva.
However, none have matched Mount’s consistency over the past eight months.
From scoring in the Champions League semi-final, to captaining his boyhood team, the Blues star boy has been breaking new boundaries.

All that’s missing from his glittering CV is a shiny piece of silverware.
Already twice defeated in the FA Cup final, Mount will be eyeing Europe’s top domestic prize when Chelsea faces Manchester City in 11 days’ time.
