John Obi Mikel has warned Liam Rosenior about the risk of losing his job as Chelsea manager.

Mikel played for the Blues for over a decade, so he knows all about the impact of player power at Stamford Bridge.

Even though the West London club are in a new era under different ownership, this could also pose a problem for Rosenior.

Mikel has now named the three players Rosenior must build relationships with in order to succeed at Chelsea.

Liam Rosenior needs three key players onside

Mikel is not convinced by Chelsea’s appointment of Rosenior, as he lacks experience in dealing with high-profile players.

Therefore, the former midfielder has explained that winning over the Blues’ key players will be one of his biggest challenges.

Mikel even suggested that Rosenior could face the sack if he does not receive support from Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

He said on The Obi One Podcast: “How does Liam Rosenior manage this squad to not lose the dressing room, to not lose the likes of Cole Palmer, the likes of Enzo Fernandez, the likes of Caicedo?

“These are your spine. You need that spine to be happy with you. You need to drag them along with you.

“And if he doesn’t manage to do that, he’s going to lose that dressing room, and it’s all going to end before you know it.”

John Obi Mikel forgot to mention Chelsea’s main man

John Obi Mikel is correct in saying that Palmer, Fernandez and Caicedo are three of Chelsea’s key men.

However, the most important player in the Blues squad is club captain and world-class defender Reece James.

Indeed, Rosenior needs to get James onside more than anyone else in the first-team squad.

The full-back is not the loudest character, but he is Chelsea’s biggest leader and the player everyone else looks up to most.
