Morgan Rogers’ move to Chelsea has got everyone talking about the £117 million fee.

Chelsea completed a British-record £117m deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, hijacking Arsenal to land Xabi Alonso’s primary target on a six-year contract.

The 23-year-old’s arrival caps off an impressive summer where he featured regularly for England at the World Cup, logging 340 minutes across seven tournament appearances.

Rogers proved his pedigree on the global stage, starting the semi-final against Argentina to assist Anthony Gordon, before playing the full 90 minutes in England’s 6-4 bronze match victory over France.

John Terry has his say on Morgan Rogers joining Chelsea

The main focus of a question asked by Piers Morgan to John Terry was about the fee in which Morgan Rogers has joined Chelsea for, when talking on Sports Uncensred.

“The numbers are inflated. He’s obviously joined a club that’s got the potential of winning the Champions League and has history of winning the Champions League. So, hence he’s gone for us rather than the red side of London.

“I’m excited to have him. I think he’s a good player. I think he’s going to give us better than what we’ve got at the moment. I think he’s a good addition to the squad, and I’m actually excited to see him.”
