Chelsea legend John Terry sent messages to former Blues teammates Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard after Real Madrid’s Champions League win on Saturday.
Chelsea’s reign as the Champions of Europe officially ended at the weekend after Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in the final.
The Spanish club further cemented its spot as the most successful club in Europe with 14 titles in the competitions, seven more than AC Milan who have the second-most titles.
It was also Real Madrid who ended Chelsea’s title defence in the quarter-finals.
The Blues were very close to sealing the ticket to the semifinal before Rodrygo’s late goal and Karim Benzema’s extra-time goal secured the win for Real Madrid in the second leg.
Terry was clearly impressed by Real Madrid’s performance as he sent laudatory messages to former Blues; Courtois and Hazard, as well as Carlo Ancelotti.

“Congratulations, @MrAncelotti,” the Blues icon wrote on Twitter.
“Deserved winners beating all the best teams along the way.
“What a performance from @thibautcourtois.
“@hazardeden10 congratulations mate.”

It was the first Champions League wins for Belgium international pair Courtois and Hazard, but the sixth for Ancelotti as a manager (four times) and a player (two).
