Jose Mourinho now really wants to sign ‘terrific’ Chelsea player

Reports from Italy have claimed that Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

According to Di Marzio, Roma are prepared to rival any move made by AC Milan for the Blues player this summer.

Broja was in attendance at Stamford Bridge last weekend as the Blues got their Premier League season underway with the visit of Liverpool.

His injury woes saw him sitting behind the bench as a player not part of the matchday squad, as they got their season going with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

The game saw Nicolas Jackson make his debut up front for the Blues. While he missed a big chance in the first half, it was still an impressive display from the forward who found himself very isolated at times up top.

What became obvious as the substitutes began to come on for the Blues was that the current squad did not provide a figure who could replace him if needed at this current stage.

This perhaps leans into why reports over the last few days have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is not looking to let him leave either permanently or on loan this summer.

Despite this, it does not seem to have put off clubs in Italy. Roma have been added to AC Milan as a side who would be interested in signing him.

Last season’s Europa League finalists are managed by Mourinho, who has turned down a number of coaching opportunities this season in order to continue with them.

There had been reports that Chelsea were interested in activating the release clause of Paolo Dybala from his side earlier in the summer, although that has now faded.
