Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Chelsea interim boss Bruno Saltor may decide to play Mason Mount on Tuesday after his recent absence under Graham Potter.
Mount had to miss several games for Chelsea due to a pelvic injury for which he was also not able to represent England in the last international break.
That said, in the last few weeks before his injury absence, the versatile midfielder mostly featured as a substitute.
It was certainly a rather unusual sight to see him on the bench, considering he had always been a regular starter since his breakout season in 2019/20.
Joao Felix’s arrival likely played a big part in this. Like Mount, the Atletico Madrid loanee also plays the roaming attacking midfielder role in the team, and he seemed to be Potter’s preferred option.
But Potter has now left the club, and Klopp expects Mount to make his Chelsea return against his team.

“Maybe there [will be] rotation,” Klopp said in Monday’s press conference when speaking about how Chelsea could line up under Saltor.
“[N’Golo] Kante is back… Mason [Mount] was injured I think and was on the bench for the first time [against Villa], [and he] might play.
“Their line-up could change. System-wise, I don’t know if they will change their system, but we expect something similar to the last game.”
If Saltor decided to stick with a 3-4-3 formation, it would certainly be interesting to see Mount and Felix play alongside each other as the two number 10s behind the striker.
Kante, who came on as a substitute against Villa, may also earn his first start for the Blues since sustaining a long-term hamstring injury last August.
