Craig Burley has gone in on Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and the rest of Chelsea following their 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final yesterday.
Liverpool were not at full strength because of injuries to the likes of Mohamed Salah and first-choice goalkeeper Alisson and were forced to use several youngsters as a result, but Chelsea were still unable to get one over their Premier League rivals.
Craig Burley, speaking on ESPN FC, has now slammed Enzo Fernandez and the Blues for downing tools.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the midfielder, who vented some of that frustration towards goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.
Chelsea now have to try and pick themselves up for their FA Cup fifth round tie against Leeds United on Wednesday.
Craig Burley slams Enzo Fernandez for Carabao Cup final performance
Burley has suggested that Fernandez was a bit of a passenger against Liverpool’s kids yesterday.
On the Argentine and his midfield partner Caicedo, the former Chelsea player said: “Caicedo and Fernandez and others are just stood by and watching these kids have their moment and that’s down to Chelsea. That is down to Chelsea, who basically, for some reason in extra time, downed tools.”

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo disappoint at Wembley
When you spend more than £200m on a midfield duo, this is the kind of game you expect them to win for you.
Again, this was not even Liverpool at their best, making the performances of Fernandez and Caicedo even more disappointing.
Caicedo was really poor at times, with Gary Neville stunned by how bad the former Brighton & Hove Albion star was on the ball.
Going forward both players need to give so much more, especially in games of such magnitude. And with Fernandez being 23 years old and Caicedo 22, they have time to get to that point. They simply have to after all of money that has been spent on them.
