Kai Havertz has named Chelsea teammate Mason Mount as one of the England players that Germany squad should watch out for ahead of the Euro 2020 round of 16 clash on Tuesday.
As their current top scorer in the tournament, Havertz will likely be in Germany’s line-up for the England game.
The Germany squad has plenty of Premier League players who might be able to give the team some tips on how to deal with England’s key players.
Havertz is one of them.
The 22-year-old insisted that England has more than just one player to watch out for, including his Blues teammate Mount.
“I can’t name just one player,” Havertz told Sport1 when asked about the players he would warn Germany boss Joachim Low.
“Marcus Rashford, Phil Foden, Mason Mount, Harry Kane – they are currently among the best in European football.
“We have to defend well as a group and take not just one but several players out of the game because they are all world-class.”
Mount reportedly set to start despite isolated training
Despite having to train separately from the team until the morning before the game, both Mount and Ben Chilwell could still be involved in the game, particularly the former.
According to Sky Sports, England boss Gareth Southgate is “seriously considering” including Mount in his England’s XI at Wembley.
The report even mentioned how England took special measures to include Mount and Chilwell in tactical team meetings via remote video link ahead of the game.
From the Chelsea fans’ point of view, it will certainly be interesting to see the potential battles between their Champions League final heroes in a major international tournament.
