Chelsea have confirmed the 23-man squad that will travel to Seville for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash with Porto, and Billy Gilmour has unfortunately missed out.

On a positive note, Chelsea will have N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham for the important game.

Kante previously picked up a hamstring injury on international duty with France and had to miss out on Saturday’s home defeat to West Brom.

It was pretty clear that Chelsea were missing the 30-year-old’s energy in midfield, particularly after they went down to 10-man following Thiago Silva’s red card.

Meanwhile, Pulisic, who scored the opening goal in the game, tweaked his hamstring at half-time and had to be substituted.

Looking back, it might have been a wise decision since he could have risked further injury had he continued playing in the second half.

Another interesting name in the squad is Abraham who did not make the matchday squad at the weekend.

Tuchel has since confirmed that it was a tactical decision and “nothing personal” and the England international will hope to finally feature after battling an ankle injury in March.

However, Gilmour is not in the travelling squad.

Tuchel sees the 19-year-old as a fourth-choice centre-midfielders, behind more experienced Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Kante, and the squad selection suggest that it is still the case.
