Doubts are starting to emerge over Ben Chilwell’s future at Chelsea.
That is according to journalist Simon Phillips.
On his Substack, Phillips has claimed that sources are now starting to have some doubts about Ben Chilwell‘s future and it is something to “keep an eye on”.

However, the journalist has also stated that, at this moment, nobody at Chelsea actually wants the left-back to leave.
Chelsea signed Chilwell from Leicester City back in 2020 for £50m, as reported by Sky Sports. He helped the Blues to win the Champions League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
Ben Chilwell injury
Chilwell is currently sidelined, picking up a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup last month.
The 26-year-old has really struggled to stay fit these last few seasons, but the Blues should not be too quick to get rid of him.
When Chilwell is able to play, he brings a lot going forward to the team on the left flank.
Back in the 2020/21 season, the England international scored three goals and provided five assists in 27 Premier League appearances, which are pretty good numbers for a left-back. According to WhoScored, he also made one cross per game during that campaign, with only Reece James and Mason Mount recording better averages.

If Chilwell keeps picking up injuries, then yes, perhaps Chelsea are going to have to consider going in another direction.
In the meantime, though, they do have Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella to cover him.
The former has actually been Chelsea’s first-choice left-back this term — something Mario Melchiot cannot understand — so Mauricio Pochettino has not been left without options in that area of the pitch after Chilwell’s injury.
It means the Argentine does not have to rush the former Leicester man back and can give him time to recover properly.
