Chelsea supporters on social media were left feeling all warm and fuzzy following a significant update on Trevoh Chalobah’s fitness.
According to The Athletic, the hamstring injury Chalobah picked up against Watford last week is not actually as severe as first anticipated.
Trevoh taking good steps
Whenever a player puts a hand to the back of their thigh, the worst is always expected.
As the 22-year-old hobbled off the Vicarage Road surface on Wednesday, all of the negative thoughts must’ve been rushing through Thomas Tuchel’s head.

With a squad already feeling the force of the ferocious fixture schedule, the last thing Tuchel needed was another absentee.
Fortunately for Chelsea, it appears Chalobah is already on the road to recovery and could be back for the home tie against Everton on the 16th.
A positive piece of news that was lapped up by Blues fans on Twitter.
Here is their reaction to the sooner-than-expected return of their young defender:
Walking wounded
Chelsea’s Champions League trip to Zenit St Petersburg has come too soon for Chalobah.
He was not part of the pre-match training sessions for the European occasion, nor was the centre-back involved in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham United.
It seems this extra rest period has benefitted the England Under-21 international, whose return will be welcomed dearly.
Not only due to his elevated status in the squad, but because Chelsea are currently experiencing something of a mini-medical crisis.
Ben Chilwell and N’Golo Kante remain side-lined, whilst Marcos Alonso and Kai Havertz picked up knocks in that West Ham loss.

Tuchel admitted after that fixture that Jorginho had been playing with ‘a little pain for many days’.
Romelu Lukaku is still rediscovering his spark after a long period out.
There is indifferent news regarding Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatian international hasn’t featured since October due to a hamstring issue.

Now, The Times have stated Kovacic is also close to overcoming his own damages.
Sadly, Tuchel confirmed in his press conference ahead of the Zenit clash that the midfielder had tested positive for covid so he will have to isolate for the allotted period.
