Journalist Nicolo Schira has now claimed that Chelsea are in pole position to complete one signing at the end of this season.
He took to Twitter to state that the Blues are currently the favourites to complete a deal to sign Atletico Bilbao winger Nico Williams this summer.
Williams has been strongly linked with a move away following what is turning into an excellent season over in Spain.

He has currently registered more assists in this campaign than Cole Palmer, who is leading the way in most categories as far as Chelsea players go this season.
His strong performances have seen him described as ‘exceptional’ by current Barcelona manager Xavi.
It looks as if the Blues are going to be as active as possible in the transfer market at the end of this campaign, however they will be safe in the knowledge that they probably need to sell first in order to achieve some of their bigger targets.
Chelsea favourites for Williams
This could see them head the direction of Williams, who has a very achievable release clause when in comparison to the rest of the market at this stage.
Schira has claimed already that the Blues are currently leading the race to sign the Spain international this summer.
He said: “Chelsea leading the race to try to sign AthleticClub’s winger Nico Williams (born in 2002).”
A striker is also likely to be on the agenda for Chelsea, with them not really addressing this in the transfer windows since Todd Boehly took over as owner.
Victor Osimhen has been the name linked strongest to a move to Stamford Bridge, with his connections off the pitch to club legends Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel playing a part in that.
However, there will be a lot of importance on players going out the door first, although there is confidence that they can make some decent money from those who are likely to move on.
