Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa had some positive words about Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side ahead of Saturday’s clash at Stamford Bridge.
You would have a hard time figuring out what to expect from Bielsa’s Leeds side.
They had a very good start to the the season, but then collapsed with consecutive 4-1 losses against Leicester City and Crystal Palace in early November.
Then in the last two games, they were unlucky to drop two points against Arsenal before claiming a 1-0 win at Goodison Park against Everton.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have been very consistent with seven wins from their last eight games in all competitions.
According to Bielsa, Chelsea have been very good during attacking and defensive transitions.
“The description that you made is correct,” Bielsa told reporters when asked whether Lampard has found the balance between defence and attack at Chelsea (via Yorkshire Evening Post).
“The values that you analyse to describe a team of how they defend and how they attack and the way they return after both attacking and defending.
“In these factors in these values you always find Chelsea in favourable positions.”
The Argentine also added that Lampard improved the players he had last season and further strengthened his team with new signings this summer.
“There are young players who have developed, and there were signings with experience and signings with a big future,” he explained.
“But if you read what is written about Chelsea you will see and hear all of these things that I have mentioned.”
