Levi Colwill is the latest in a long line of individuals to shower praise on Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo.
Moises Caicedo, 23, has developed into a sensational player and key figure in the Chelsea squad since joining from Brighton nearly two years ago.
The all-action defensive midfielder is one of the first names in the starting XI because of his consistently top-class performances. In fact, Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez called Caicedo the world’s best defensive midfielder at this moment in time.

Levi Colwill predicts Moises Caicedo will become one of the world’s best midfielders
Levi Colwill, 22, has named his all-time favourite XI during a segment on Chelsea’s official website. It included some current Stamford Bridge stars, including Caicedo.
He followed it up by confidently predicting that the Ecuador international will grow into one of the best midfielders in the world.
When discussing Blues teammate Caicedo, Colwill said: “I’ve played with him for a couple of years now, and I’d put my house on him becoming one of the best midfielders in the world. I don’t know how he’s that good, but he just is. He’s an absolute joke of a player. He is amazing so I can easily put him in there.”

We would argue that Caicedo already belongs in the conversation alongside the world’s best defensive midfielders.
Blues head coach Enzo Maresca insists Caicedo has improved under him. Even though he had a challenging debut season in West London, the midfield powerhouse has gone to a new level in his second campaign as a Chelsea player.
Meanwhile, Reece James insists Caicedo has grown so much at Chelsea in the space of two years.

Moises Caicedo dominated against Benfica
During Chelsea’s win against Benfica in the Club World Cup last-16 match, Caicedo was at his brilliant best.
| Minutes played | Accurate passes | Total shots | Tackles won | Dribbled past | Clearances | Ground duels won | Match rating |
| 120 | 116/128 (91%) | 4 | 3/3 (100%) | 0 | 2 | 5/10 (50%) | 8.7 |
Unfortunately, Caicedo is suspended for the quarter-final tie against Palmeiras this weekend.
Dario Essugo should play versus Palmeiras as he’s joined the Chelsea group to provide genuine competition and cover for Caicedo. It would certainly be a great opportunity to see if he can step in during an important contest.
