Liam Delap is wasting no time following his £30m move from Ipswich Town to Chelsea this summer.
Multiple clubs were interested in signing Delap, including the Blues’ Premier League rivals Manchester United.
In the end, though, Delap opted to join Chelsea instead of United in a huge boost to Enzo Maresca. There were times last season when the 45-year-old was without a recognised striker.
Delap could now make his debut next Monday when Chelsea take on Los Angeles FC in the Club World Cup, and it is fair to say that the Englishman cannot wait to get started.

Liam Delap getting used to new surroundings at Cobham
Reece James is excited about Delap’s arrival at Chelsea, while the forward himself also appears to be pumped following his move to Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Delap was actually at Cobham on Monday to take in and get used to his new surroundings.
Chelsea players were not scheduled to return to the club’s training ground until Tuesday, showing Delap’s eagerness to get started.
The 22-year-old and Nicolas Jackson will be the main strikers at the Club World Cup, with Chelsea yet to agree a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitike.
On Monday, Phillips ruled out Chelsea landing Ekitike in time for the Club World Cup. The Blues will now have to wait for the second transfer window this summer if they still want to sign him.

How Liam Delap’s camp feel about Chelsea move
Again, Delap had many suitors before his move to Chelsea so had an array of clubs to choose from once he decided that he wanted to leave Ipswich.
According to Phillips, though, Delap’s people are happy with his decision to pick Chelsea. Having decided to join Enzo Maresca‘s side, the England Under-21 international will get the chance to play in the Champions League next season, something that he would not have been able to do at United.
