Liam Rosenior’s 23-game spell in charge at Chelsea could not have gone much worse. The up-and-coming Englishman will have expected to at least see out the season at Stamford Bridge.

Rosenior actually made a solid start to life at Chelsea. Seven wins out of his first nine games gave fans hope that, actually, despite his inexperience, Rosenior had what it takes to take Chelsea forward.

Only two defeats came against Arsenal, but it also included away wins over Palace and Napoli. Soon after that, things unravelled. Failure to beat Burnley and Leeds and a third loss to Arsenal saw doubt creep in.

After a brief reprieve away at Aston Villa with a 4-1 win, Rosenior watched his Chelsea side lose seven of his last nine games, only beating Wrexham and Port Vale. A 3-0 defeat to Brighton saw Rosenior sacked.

Rosenior’s troubles at Chelsea were not only on the pitch

The run of form that led to the sack was largely due to decisions made off the pitch. His decision to ban Enzo Fernandez for two games, his comments in the media about surrounding the ball, all contributed.

But ultimately, BlueCo learnt a lesson. To get the Chelsea dressing room on side, a gaffer with a big reputation is required. Otherwise, the players won’t buy in. Rosenior was nicknamed ‘supply teacher’.

Rosenior’s spell ended in disarray and Chelsea failed to achieve European qualification, largely due to his appalling stint in charge. Yet, Rosenior has landed on his feet with an exciting job back in France.

RMC Sport say, as per GFFN, Rosenior is set to take over at Paris FC. Promoted to Ligue 1 last season, Paris finished in 11th position in Ligue 1, but manager Antoine Kombouare is set to depart as manager.

Why Paris FC is an exciting opportunity for Rosenior

A mid-table finish for Paris was about as good as they could possibly have hoped for last season, and now, Rosenior gets the chance to build on that in France’s capital. He joins a club part-owned by Red Bull.

Red Bull have stakes in many big clubs around the world. Leipzig, Salzburg, Leeds United and plenty more benefit from the energy drinks conglomerate, and now Rosenior is set to take over from Koumbouare.

He inherits a side that boasts high-profile names including Moses Simon, Kevin Trapp and Ciro Immobile. Rosenior’s name in France remains well-regarded after his stint at Strasbourg and now, he’s set for Paris.
