Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is not happy with some of the things that are being reported in the media right now as he continues to be linked to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Frenkie de Jong is a player who Barcelona could sell to Chelsea or United in the summer for €100m (£85m), according to Mundo Deportivo.
However, the 26-year-old has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Spotify Camp Nou and hit out at the press for all of the stories that they are writing about his contract and future in a recent news conference, which ESPN followed.
De Jong has missed some games this season because of an ankle injury, but when the Dutchman has been fit, Xavi has played him.
In total, the Netherlands international has made 24 appearances for Barcelona in the current campaign.
Frenkie de Jong does not want to leave Barcelona amid Chelsea links
De Jong is happy at Barcelona and has now hit out at the media for what they are writing about his future.
“Recently I am a little angry with what the press write in general,” he said. “A lot of stuff that is not true has come out. I can’t understand it, people reporting lies. It’s irritating me a little.
“For example, [the media] speak a lot about my contract, my salary etc… it’s a lot of smoke, a lot of lies, that I’m earning €40 million or whatever. That is a long way from what I earn — I won’t say numbers, but a story has been invented that is not true.”
De Jong also went on to add: “I am really happy at Barca, I have always said it. This is the club of my dreams. I hope I can play here for many more years.”

Frenkie de Jong not keen on joining Chelsea or any other club
It is quite obvious that De Jong does not fancy a move to Chelsea, United or any other side this summer.
ESPN pundit Steve Nicol thought there was no chance of the former Ajax man joining the former anyway. There definitely is not now after his latest comments.
It is not the end of the world for Mauricio Pochettino, though, who has options in midfield. We cannot forget how much money Chelsea spent to bring Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo to Stamford Bridge, for example. De Jong does not look like he needs to be a priority right now.
